goTenna Mesh

2016 - 2017
Role : Project/Design Lead, Pensa
From concepts to production design

goTenna came to Pensa to design 2 more goTenna products: Mesh and Pro. They wanted these products to have a family look with the 1st goTenna device and eventually define a product design language for future product lines. We tracked back and mapped out every design details and meanings from the 1st product we designed. We identified 3 main design languages to build on the future products. 1. Clear reading on plastic & metal combination that symbolizes the balance between Simplicity & Confidence. 2. Slender overall proportion and vertical device orientation that emphasize a compact communication device. 3. Attachment design and details that bring personality and context.
I led, managed the project and designed all aspects of the product from concept to development and packaging. I brought up the focal points, translated abstract elements for the client to make informed design decisions, and led the team to create the product/brand vision that tells a story.
